Unit 7 Assignment

we have been given our Unit 7 (Systems Analysis and Design) assignment. This assignment is quite interesting if you look past the boring front end. This assignment looks at the ways of analysing a system to find its flaws then coming up with a better more cost effective solution. It has been split up into three parts to make it a little easier to complete.

Unit 1 - Assignment

We have now been given our assignment for Unit 1 (Comms & Emp) so far the only thing I've found that actually interests me in this assignment is creating the website for the E-Portfolio. the assignment involves 14 tasks broken down into three parts that need to be handed in on different dates (see the attached assignment brief for dates).

Oracle Academy

Oracle Academy is a free course design by the Oracle company that teaches students about online databases. Oracle is a very big comapny (bigger than microsoft) that runs huge database that alot of popular websites use for example
- Amazon
- Ebay
- Google

Unit 7

Unit 7 (Systems Analysis and Design) is about how to Analise a system for the weak points and then design a newer better system. I have learnt how to use 3 methodology's:
- waterfall
- parallel
- prototyping

and how the system analyst works to fine the flaws in a system using techniques like observation and questioners

Unit 1

So far in unit 1 (communications and employability) i have learnt about how to communicate using various techniques and tools. at the start of the unit i learnt about what attributes employees are looking for for example:
- Works well in a team
- Good communication skills
- good qualifications

also we have learnt a little bit about presentations and how to do them properly. today we learnt how to use Gannt Charts as well these are very useful while planning events like cooking breakfast or arranging a night out.

What Is A Blog?

A blog is a place where people from all walks of life can write about their life or their experience. A blog is essentially a personal website that is useful for distributing information across the world to people from all walks of life and lifestyles. People upload information about a certain subject then another person will read this information and make up there own mind, for example a husband and wife with two children go on holiday to turkey. When they get back they write a blog on what a lovely place it was and how child friendly it is. Then family number two is on the blog one day and reads family one’s blog and then decides to go to turkey with there three kids. In my case I am a student writing a blog about my coursework for one of my units which could help a student somewhere else who is also doing the same course.
